It’s quite astonishing how this recently formed band can rock it out like pro-rockstars. Give it up for these 110 AB-Music Production Students; Paco Santos, Andrew Son, Pat Poblador, Cash Fuerte, Aki Suda & for vocalist, Mewa Cawad who in fact comes all the way from DLSU.
Only released in less than 24 hours ago, this video is already making noise on Facebook News Feeds; it already received 110 likes as of now and 1592 views on Vimeo. Hands down Mad Hatter Day and for Quinatrow Productions for this hardcore music video!
“It’s impossible to find something that doesn’t exist in the first place.”
Chorus: Adrift at sea, aimless and directionless We’re fighting the current and braving the turbulence The waves run riot as we seek Atlantis They’re crashing down on us
I. The tides are rising with the tension As we aimlessly float in confusion This ship is sailing but we can’t agree on one direction So tell me, where do we go from here?
Bridge: SOS! You’re holding on to me as if you’re holding on to your dear life SOS! You’re fighting in vain and consumed by denial With a faint spark of hope, you ignite a signal fire But we can’t be rescued from this pretense now
Won’t stop for these lightmares Bright and shiny moving lightmares Even if I close my eyes strobe light kills the glow of the night
Pop the lights from these lightmares Zombies dancing to the lightmare You got to get me out get me out
Oh I could see it at the corner of my eye a drug device seeking to ignite Glowing colors bright bright bright It will be the curse of the hollow light
Won’t stop for green lightmares Bright and shiny moving lightmares Even if I close my eyes stroblight kills the glow of the night
Pop the lights from this lightmare Zombies dancing to the lightmare You got to get me out get me out

Next Time Around by Sleep is The Enemy
You say, it ain’t gonna work out when i saw every little thing thatwe could be So this is my third and last strike To win back, those glory days of us both
Next time around i won’t be there I’m standing on bittersweet times with you So just chew me up and spit me out babe
It’s almost dawn and i’m Drowned in caffeine as i’m Driving around by the street lights By your place There you go prancing around like everything’s ok when i beg to differ
Next time around i won’t be there Who am i to joke when love was a marathon So chew me up and spit me out babe
Next time around i won’t be there I’m standing on bittersweet times with you So just chew me up and spit me out babe
Just chew me up and spit me out babe

A question to you… I’m scared for your answer Nothing is fixed, not even this paragraph I sail the city sadness again for a billionth time Revisiting, might be staying… here
I scale the streets of my new old home Your goodbye still lingers… May I answer back I love you so? Angel may I answer your goodbye with I love you? I’ll never stop saying this… Elle I promise
Another dream… that would leave me hurting Your face again for the second straight night Tongue tied words are mumbled So here’s another sad song for you
Hills of my city just got lower… few inches As you bit your lips inside my empty head “It’s not just black and white” someone said But with you it just seemed it is
This moment I will lose all my words Vowels after vowels… let go to forgotten I’m fading… I’m shaking with fear…I’m all alone in the dark My sunset is coming… I’ll save my last breath for this song… for you

Recently, Beautiful Star, has been aired on national music television, MYX. This is a must listen song, its as good as Kanye West’s, so click the video and enjoy! The song with its dynamic beats, combined with skillful rapping skills and stunning vocals, speak about the ups and downs of fame in the industry. This is a collaboration of Eman Garcia feat. June Marie Jumao-as & Aman Dela Cruz. This music video was produced by Lawrence Lu & Andrea Culla & directed by Alfred Asuncion.
EMAN GARCIA is actually composed of several artists that collaborate together and create music. Though the pioneers of this collaboration is composed of Eman Garcia, himself and Laurence Lu, the beat-maker and producer, the group also includes different, talented artists such as June Jumao-as of Good Morning High Fives , Migs Palispis of Curbside, Lloyd M., Carol Anne Leus, Peevey Nicholas and several others who share the same passion for creating music.
See our personal interview with Eman & Laurence themselves, along with Adrienne Babaran, their sound engineer at SDA’s mixing studio to see scenes behind musicians at work.

BASIC VIDEO CLASS BY NESTOR ABROGENA. It’s impeccably impossible for these Music Videos not to amaze you. For one, they are original music composed by CSB Students, themselves, and two these stunning videos were directed, edited & created by students who don’t even fall under the film department. These just prove how versatile & talented SDA students can be.
Under the branch of Design Foundation, the Basic Video Course requires discipline and intensive creative thinking from its students to produce their ideas into becoming a motion picture. It’s totally impressive how students manage to create stunning and professional Videos within a few months time.
Here are just a few of the MANY exceptional Videos shown during the Anualle Exhibit at the Cafeteria during the 3rd Term 2010-2011 :
Five in the Afternoon by Monica Bautista
We find it rather refreshing to hear Monica Bautista sing because she’s got this sunny afternoon vibe in her music that just reminds you of open skies and fresh site of green grass. True enough, visions were created into visuals by NAHO SAKAMOTO & GHIE CHAN(PD), the production designers of the music video. The vintage & feminine wardrobe can be credited to ANNE CO(FDM), who styled Monica’s clothes & for SHEKI VALDEZ for the make-up. It was directed by NICOLO SANTOS(ID), with NOEL CAGURANGAN(ID), as the Director of Photography.
Next Time Around by Fico Reloj
The moment you begin to hear this song by the band, To The Rescue, its not a question that you’d be transmitted into this state where the only thing that seems to matter is the music & images that play in your mind as you listen every word of the lyrics. With the smooth vocals of Fico Reloj, the atmospheric guitar & bass strums of Migs Garcia & Andrai Antonio and the calming beats of Ryck Santillan this song will make you say goodbye that boy band song you were listening to awhile ago.:)
This inspired music video was a project of ARLENE BENSAL(FDM), FRANZ TRONO(FDM), YSAB ABUEL(FDM), BERNIE NGWE(FDM) & ANDRAI ANTONIO(ID)
Hanging on A Cliff Named IV Drip by Lions & Acrobats
As spectacular as Lions & Acrobats themselves, true enought that this music video created by VINCE SANTOS-VIOLA(ANI), MICA GONZALES(FDM), VERNS TAN(FDM), KHEITH CRUZ(FDM) & JEDRICK DY(ANI) trully gave justice to the music by emphasizing the euphoric feeling the song brings with the emotive set and visual techniques & effects used on this video. We love the blue-ish-green light and the invisible drum set, which makes us wonder if we are under a visual illusion.
A night of pure ecstasy High Voltage battle of the bands was a night where rock ruled and music was pleasure for the ears. Every beat of the drums and voices of the vocalists was in sync with the heart beats of the audience as guitar and bass riffs fill the theater as they battle it out for the win. The event took place on the SDA Theater, April 13, 2010, 6:30pm.

When asked, CURBSIDE just wants its listeners to feel real when they hear their music. They believe that Music is not only a form of expression but it is a way of communication for whatever cause or experience man needs to convey; may it be about heart-aches, politics, anger, etc. True enough, whether you are a rock-enthusiast or not, CURBSIDE will have your head nodding to the beat of their music as they drift you away with the rhythm.

Music Feature: LIONS & ACROBATS
L-R: Oteph Tumambing, Mikee Silangcruz, Icoy Rapadas, Jim Lopez, Pedro Tumibay (Photo By: Matt Santos-Viola)
It was a few hours past noon when we arrived on the 5th Floor SDA Theatre, where we started to hear the sound of impressive guitar riffs, pulsating drum beats, emotive bass echoes and astonishing vocals which seems to give off this euphoric feeling to anyone who hears the sound of their music. It was no doubt that it was Lions & Acrobats in performance, who continue to transport their audience to an atmospheric state where nothing else seem to exist and matter except for you and the music.
Band Members: Lorenzo “Icoy” Rapadas AB-MP (Vocals), Oteph Tumambing Oteph AB-MP (Bass), Mikee Silangcruz AB-PHOTO (Guitar), Jim Lopez AB-MP(Guitar), Pedro Tumibay AB-MP(Drums) & Ling Lava AB-MP(Guitar)
Genre: Indie/Alternative/Post-Rock
Who Knew that Moulin Rouge could possibly inspire the band name of a modern-day rock band. Vocalist, Icoy Rapadas, tells us that he got fascinated with the whole idea of a carnival and thus, “Lions & Acrobats” came to be. It was in the year 2009 when the band met each other during the Frosh Orientation. Icoy, Pedro, Jim & Oteph were originally block-mates but it was a question how Mikee, who happens to be AB-Photography, became one of their guitarists. According to the band, they just randomly saw him during the FOP and “was very pa-cute”. However, it was only very recent when the band decided to add a new Lion, Ling Lava to the group. Now there are three guitarists in the band, they just got bigger and better!
Lions & Acrobats live in Bacolod, March 26, 2011. We find it a success considering that it was their first gig outside Manila, yet they had instant fans asking for autographs and photos with them. Their Extended Playlist was sold out after the crowd heard their music. Im saying this with no exaggeration that the audience was instantly amazed at their music that they kept wanting for more. Its really Benildean Pride all the way down to Visayas.
It was not so long ago when I met Lions & Acrobats in our Oralcom Class during the third term of our first year. For a group of guys who can be so hyper-actively hilarious and “makulit”, I would have least expected them to have a band that can be this gifted and astonishing. I honestly couldn’t believe them when they told me that they had a band. I was proven wrong; the first time I saw them perform just left me speechless and even until now, they still continue to impress me.
Straight from the hallways of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, School of Design & Arts, we bring you a joint project aimed to showcase and expose true Benildean Art & Talent for it to be shared, experienced and appreciated by others. It also goals to connect different courses by connecting diverse interests and abilities, bringing them together in one place where Benildean Skill and Ability can be seen and heard.
We feature students of the college with the artistic abilities in doing their passion; such as photographers, musicians, fashion designers, art managers, animators, film creators, production designers, architects, industrial designers, dancers, multimedia artists and interior designers who can be found all around the campus. These are works conceived in the minds of each individual, which were carefully executed and created into becoming reality. Real Art by Real Artists.
We are not your typical college students ; we stand by our school’s motto, “Doing ordinary things the extraordinary way.” Truly we can say Benildeans are exceptionally gifted.
