Its definitely not a question why we chose to interview James Albelda & Pax Yabut for our first ever feature on Sports. Both these boys are taking up majors that require tedious amount of work and you’d wonder how they still manage to train for martial arts.

For a combat sport that focuses on grappling & ground fighting, Jiu Jitsu requires a great amount of skill, strength and dedication from anyone who wishes to endure this form of martial art. James & Pax have mastered this art yet still be dedicated students to their studies.

He sees Jiu Jitsu as a lifestyle and not just a sport. Certainly Jiu Jitsu is a distant activity for this 109 Film Major, Pax Yabut.

He has been a skillfull Director of Photography in several works such as films by our former interviewed director, Erica Honrado  in her known films, “Mga Mata sa Loob ng Aparador” and “Chubibo” ( also featuring SDA Talent’s own Andie & Kristine). Not only is he gifted with camera handling, Pax can also act. See him play a role in his monologue film, “Untitled” .

For someone who may be the stubborn boy in class, James Albelda still remains disciplined and serious when it comes to his art. When it comes to Jiu Jitsu, this 109 BS- Industrial Major advices that a solid work ethic is needed in order to persevere in this sport. He has won several competitions with this sport. His playful and good-humored personality is transformed into a more focused and serious state when he is on the mats, just reminds us that discipline is a much needed aspect in any of our chosen fields.
